Kissing Hand Fun!

We read the book "The Kissing Hand' and learned a lot about Chester and the feelings his mom and him at on his first day of school.  Then we decided to trace our hand for you so that you could always feel our love no matter if we were home or not!  We hope that you enjoyed them!!

Center Fun!

Each day we have centers in our room.  The students get some time to socialize and play.  It is a great experience for them.  They learn about sharing, working together, and social skills.  They love this time of day.  Please ask them what their favorite activity to do is during centers.

Chester....can we catch him?!?!

Today we spent a lot of time discussing the story The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn.  We read it one day and went to read it again and a note fell out!  This note led us on a tour of the school trying to find Chester but also to learn about all the different places we may go in the school.  It was a great time and when we came back to our room Chester had left a treat on the carpet for us... a 'kiss" (hershey that is).  Make sure to ask about this fun adventure.  Then we took some time to make Chester face to hang in our hall!  Here are some pictures of us busy working!

First Day Cheer Page!!

We spend some time in the morning drawing a picture of ourselves on the first day of school.  We really worked hard to make sure our clothes looked like what we really wore to school today!  It was a lot of fun to see all our creative work!  We hope you liked looking at that page as it came home today in our folder!!

Welcome to Kindergarten!!

Thanks to all those who were able to come to our "Back to School Night".  It was a lot of fun to meet everyone!  I am very excited for the start of the school year!  We are going to learn A LOT and have A LOT of fun!  Please stay up to date with all of our happenings by visiting here to see lots of pictures and all that we are learning about!!  See you on the 1st day!!

Shaving Cream FUN!!

On our last Friday of school we spent our project time having a little fun with shaving cream.  We started out by writing our names, friends names, and word wall words.  Then we just had some fun and played in it.  WOW!  They loved this activity!  We also had a special visitor in our school that day from Malaysia and she joined in on our shaving cream fun!  We loved learning about her too!

State Troop Visits

On our last full Wednesday of school we had a special guest come and talk to us about safety and their job.  We had State Trooper Kyle Haack visit our Kindergarten students.  He spent a lot of time discussing bike safety, stranger danger, and walking safety.  Then he was able to talk with us about his job.  We even got to go out and check out his car!  WOW that was great!  We loved and it even learned some things too!
