Math Daily

We have been working on money, adding, and subtracting during our math time this last month of school!  We love going to a math daily after we have finished our math work to help reinforce these skills!  Hope you enjoyed checking out what we have been up too!

Dates:

May 14^th – Late Start

May 15^th- IMC closes!  Return books!

May 22^nd  - Kindergarten Picnic – more details will be coming!

May 23^rd – 11:00 Dismissal and Last day of Kindergarten!!

Tips:

·      Work on counting pennies, nickels, and dimes.

·      Work on telling time to the half hour.

·      Have your child write you a story using at least five sentences.

Reading:

We have spent a lot of time working on our Reader’s Theatre and ABC’s of Kindergarten.  It has been a lot of fun to see how they have grown through the year.  We hope you enjoyed our Kindergarten Reading Celebration!  Now we are working hard on our book club books.  We were all just re-tested and trying out our new levels before summer.  Please keep reading over summer!

Math:

We spent the last 2 weeks working very hard on money.  This can be very tough but we are beginning to really understand it. We are now moving on to addition and subtraction like they will see in 1^st grade!  They are very excited to experience this new adventure!  Keep it up!

Science/SS

In Science they are discussing living and non-living things.  They are very excited because this will lead into an animal report!  In SS we just finished up our unit on People, Places, and Events.  We are now focusing our last unit on People and the Government.  We are excited to learn about all of this!
