Valentine's Day Heart

Today we spent some time writing on a Valentine's Day heart and then decorated it.  They could give it to anyone they wanted!  I know most went home to give to families!  Hope you enjoyed it!

Addition!!

We have been working very hard on our addition skills!  We are learning to use objects to count, a number line, and touch math!  So we were able to play a game that had addition problems in it.  Then we were able to move along the game board as we knew the answers!  Some of our friends were doing IXL Math on the computers too to help increase their addition skills!

Metacognition

We have spent a lot of time reviewing and discussing Metacognition.  This is thinking about our thinking while we are reading.  So we got to use a "thinking bubble" to explain to the class our thinking while we heard a story.  You only had to come up and share if you wanted and we did have a few students who loved to share what they were thinking!

Dental Health Month

February is Dental Health month and we have spent a lot of time learning about how to care for our teeth.  One fun activity we did was sort of bunch of pictures onto sides of a tooth.  They had to sort them to either be things that are health for our teeth or unhealthy for our teeth.  It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot!  Ask your child some questions about dental health!

Groundhogs Day!!

On Monday the 3rd we spent some time discussing what happened when the groundhog came out of his burrow!  He saw that shadow so we have 6 more weeks of winter!  Let's hope it goes by fast or even better if he was wrong!

Valentine Day Boxes!!

We spent our time last Friday creating our beautiful Valentine Day boxes.  We used a variety of materials to help us create them.  They had stickers, construction paper, foam hearts, markers, crayons, gel pens, and shaped paper punchers to use!
WOW!!  This was fun and they turned out great.  Hope you enjoy seeing them when they come home on Friday!
